Just picked up a mercury 20hp outbord blue band and red band. Sn# 4063976 can anyone help me out on year or info on these why is one red and other blue.

The different colours are for marketing / styling.---There is no other significance !!---The red motor is a 1971 , the last year for red trim.------The blue motor is a 1974 model.

Thank you sir. I want to get the red band running. The blue one is shot. But it looks like the red band may be missing parts
