Hi, Is it possible to charge a Deep-Cycle battery using my 1973 Mercury 200 20hp outboard? If so how do I hook it up. Thanks Steve

Does your engine have a charging circuit? If so, just connect the battery to the engine (in the normal manner, positive terminal to red lead, negative to black), start the engine and let it run for, oh I don't know, about 3 days!

Why not use a battery charger?

Hi Chris, not sure if it have a charging circuit.. just wanted to see if I could keep the charge topped up while I was using the boat.

No the Thunderbolt 200's 20hp didnt come with a "charging" feature. I understand someone made something that would work but it costs more than the motor
