Mercury 2 stroke 4 hp

Hi all I am new here. I recently bought a 4 hp 2 stroke Mercury approx 2000 model. Is the exhaust through the prop or on the sides of the lower section near the oil filler screw? appreciat the help. also needed to know if there are any free on-line repair manuals

A thru hub prop will be pretty obvious. It will have a nut in the center and a tube-like hub around the nut. Tak a look at any Merc prop for 40HP or larger. If you have a thru hub prop, it will look the same, only smaller in diameter.

Most OB motors have water intakes in front of the prop, and gratings for water to exit above the antiventilation plate.
