ok here my prob the engin runs fine and when i give it gas it only gos up 2 rpm then the enging dies im thinking its the stator what all do u think im up for any ieda ty
Pull the cowling off and have someone operate the throttle (engine off) and check that all the linkages are connected and moving. Then check the stator wires where they come out from under the plate and see if there is any chaffing. Have seen they short out at certain positions. If they are touching or rubbing on something reposition them so they don't.
Could be stator, Could be switchboxes, could be "advance" or idle module.......or could be fuel.
To rule out fuel, if the primer bulb doesn't collapse, and squeezing it when it's balking doesn't help, it's probably not fuel.
If squeezing the bulb when it balks kills it, it's carbs.
To rule out the modules, disconnect them and try it.
After that, do DVA checks on the stator and switchboxes, or throw money at it.
