Re: Mercury 1150

Oh that makes sense. My bad thanks for the clarification.
I got another question though. On my 78 1150 there is a throttle stop type screw built into the arm of the throttle control with a stop on the manifold cover, on the powerhead i am using i think is a 76 but has now stop screw and no stop on the manifold. did they build some sort of stop into the dissy housing? any way to make this work with my dissy off of my 78?

Ok I thought about getting the gasket and just switching the manifold covers but I an getting 2 different part numbers. Do these 2 parts not interchange? I am also getting different part numbers for the gasket itself.

The distributor-based motors had a plate above the distributor housing, This plate had three stop screws for idle stop, max spark advance and throttle stop. You need all these adjustments.
The distributor plate had two bolts attaching it to the distributor body. Do you have the plate? Do you see the threaded holes?

Generally the newer ADI ignition-based motor blocks are incompatable with the distributor based blocks.

I talked to clams he said that that stop screw on the arm was just a safety device and want the actual stop, so I should be alright as long as I don't poul a hercules on the throttle. If anyone knows where to find throttle linkage let me know, I accidently broke one of mine.
