Mercuiser 140 1984

I'm having problems with the idel and take off as well as the neutral. It idels fine but if i drive around for a bit it stays around 1500 rpm and won't come out of neutral. As for the take off it chugs first then takes off any ideas on the settings of the carb?

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard...

It sounds like it needs to be Rebuilt...
The instructions in the "Kit" will have the Settings....

Well I took it to the local mercuiser dealer he said one of the cables needs adjusted. He didn't hear it run he just seen it. You think I need a rebuild kits for the carb but it runs fine once it gets going we go tubing and stuff on it just doesn't go it hesitates then gos fine . It bogs at first man this stuff is hard to explain lol

Ayuh,... That's a Carb issue...

Rebuild it, with a new accelerator pump...

ya can also find your carb specs here. '84 was the last year for that one. if it's an '85, here would be the place to get the specs. use sn to id...

i'll read up on it but you guys are awesome thanks for the advice i know you guys know more then me but i'm a quick learner so i'll let you know if i figure it out or rebuild it thanks again
