I am a first time boat owner and hope i didnt bite off more than i could chew with this new project boat i bought at an auction. i bought a 1996 Gekko GTS 20 sport boat at an auction yesterday. under normal circumstances i would never buy anything that doest run but the condition of this boat is mint with the exception that it needs a new motor. it has a 5.7 liter Mercrusier engine with LH rotation. Does this fact preclude me from replacing the motor with any "run of the mill" 5.7 liter or because of the "left hand roation" do i have to pourchase a Mercruiser engine. I think the manifold will bolt right onto a GM but its the rotation thing that gets me. any help???? If replying please use simple terms as i said im a first time boat owner. Also does anyone know ehre i can get a manual for this setup. it has a velvet drive that much i do know.
