I have a 1987 chevy 2.5 mercruiser engine in my boat. I want to replace it can I replace it with a 1986 3.0 engine?

the intake/exhaust manifold are different.

Ayuh,... The basic Long Blocks will interchange just Fine...

If you were to try to swap Fully Dressed motors,...
As noted by rabeck, the exhaust dumps in a different location...
