mercruiser v8 cam interchange

ok im just asking for information. does any on know of a regular chevy cam that is the same or close to a regular mercruiser cam. the engine is a mercruiser chevy v8 270 hp. i was just wondering if there might be a cam that would interchange with it.

the only "chevy" cam, straight from factory, won't be enough for the boat. if you're asking cause you want to replace the existing cam, check performance shops/websites. they will list marine specs for the cams, and for the different year, cubic inch size and such. a chev based boat motor is just that, chevrolet, with the proper marine parts added. the only way to know what specs are for your cam is to look up the year of motor, make (mercruiser, volvo, omc...)the hp rating, serial number. then from there, you can determine which aftermarket cams have the same specs. stating just the hp, marinizer, and v8 is not enough info.
