Hi all. I have finally fixed by giant screw up and now have a gorgeous v8 MerCruiser engine installed. It’s a 2008 Glastron GXL

What exhaust options do I have for this? Quiet when wake zone with full open on the lake sounds fun.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Years ago I installed “Captains Call” thru-hull diverters on my Wellcraft 23 Nova XL. Even with me doing all the work it was stupid expensive, and when switched to quiet (through the prop) it was noticably louder than stock. No performance improvement at all (small block GM).
Wasted money IMO but it did sound nice! 😝

Most exhaust systems require the motor out to install.

Switching from the exhaust bellows to the exhaust tube will give you most of the sound for about $100 and can be done with the drive installed

A good captains call system will run you about $1700 not including any incidentals required during installation

I decided to not install any aftermarket exhaust. I agree cyclops222, and I don’t want to be looked at that way on the lake. No extra attention needed when it comes to me.
