I have rebuilt a derelict Hydrodyne 18 I-O tournament skier that originally had a Mercruiser 165 (Chevy 250) inline 6. I purchased an engine and drive from a donor 1978 Silverline. The rear engine mount hardware includes bolts, aircraft nuts, washers, spacers and a pair of coil springs with fiber/fabric washers that fit the OD of the springs. Do the the springs and fabric washers go under the rear engine mounts on top of the gimbal housing mounts for rear gimbal bearing alignment? Will the rear of this engine 'float' on these springs?

Thanks, Bernie

I happen to have my mercruiser book on the table.
4. Place large fiber washer on top of inner transom plate engine mounting brackets and special split lockwasher inside fiber washer.
5. Place engine over transom plate mounting brackets.
Long bolts - install large steel washer, then the spacer, drop bolts thru engine mount.

Alan, thanks, thats the book I need....but your info will get me started. Those 'split lockwashers' sure look like springs....

Is there a better manual than a Seloc? I have one for my Merc outboards and it is somewhat better than nothing....

Thanks AllDodge and thanks again Alan, the engine is aligned and bolted down, ready for the outdrive. Now I have some reading material. YES!
