Anyone know if there is anyone who makes modern looking decals for an Alpha gen 1? Or if the lack of quality makes OEM a necessity. My drive is in good shape but I might as well give it a coat of paint and re decal it while I’m doing stuff with it. Several places sell blue versions of the correct style decal for my 1986 drive which would look good on the boat which I’m going to paint blue… I’m not going for restoration quality but I want the boat to look nice. It’s not perfect

Ayuh,.... I prefer my drive in the water, where you can't see it,.....

I walk around it 'bout once a years or so with a rattlecan of Rustoleum black 'n spray it, for when it's on the wagon,....

I'm not going to check eBay for you but I'd be shocked if you can't find decals there

eBay is loaded with decals. I asked both places that is listing them if they could customize them a little and use the newer 2004+ Mercury M logo on the alpha Gen 1 format ( they have them for Gen 2 ). But both of them declined to do it.

I’ll probably put OEM decals on it. I see the one place above lists the kit

I opted to buy original style decals from EBay in the original colors. I looked up the OEM set and it’s $150-220 depending on who has it…. I paid the $20 for the aftermarket decals and I’ll paint it with black rust oleum and it’ll look better than it does.
