Mercruiser Bravo 1 exhaust problem

We have a Mercruiser Bravo one 7.4L the exhaust is not coming out of the center of the propeller insted its coming out of these 2 egg shape wholes close to the back of the boat...Does anyone know how i can correct this?

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,...

Those are the idle relief holes,+ should be passin' gas...

If the path to the Prop is Plugged, you probably had an Overheat,+ Fried the shutters, causin' 'em to fall down the Y-pipe...

Thanks for the quick reply yes you are correct. It did get hot. I replace the 4 rubber boots in the exaust and there were two medal flaps (one in each side) in the exaust pipes at the rear of engine. The flaps were mounted with a pin that was offset from center. Is this the flaps you were speaking about? Are there more flaps in the outdrive? Thanks

Not supposed to be, but if someone else had a melt down there could be some left over from an earlier time.
