Mercruiser Belts

So I have been hearing some intermittent squealing from the motor and I think it may be a worn belt. Anyone have the size belts (or can point me where to look) I need for the alternator and the power steering? Its the 5.7 alpha one.. '94.

Most belts have numbers on them. Just take them to a good automotive store and they will be able to find the correct ones for you. There is nothing marine about the belts.

If your pulleys are rusty-- that aggrevates wear-- I had very good luck using a POR15 starter kit to save mine as they were pitted.

The coating is very hard and has not worn through. ( Yet )

Best thing you can do is go to this link https://webapps.brunswick.com/literature/literatureSearch.do type in your engine serial number and find out the OEM belt numbers for your engine. Then, you can use those numbers to convert to other belts. Don't expect to go into an auto parts store and say you want an alternator belt for a 94 Mercruiser, you probably won't find one like that.
