Ayuh,... It appears that the jump seats could be pulled outa the way,.....
Though I agree with dubs, you oughta be able to reach 'em from the front of the motor,....
Oof, looks like the floor is still in the way. You *can* probably reach from the front, but it will suck. Have some spare plugs handy for when you drop them in the bilge and a magnet won't pick em up. Good luck with the spark plugs.

How big of a gambler are you???? There are thousands of folks that take short cuts to winterize there I/O's but there are also hundreds of them that wish they would have done it the right way when their block cracks !!! How much of a gambler are you??

Thanks. Here are photos. Can I disassemble parts that are in the way?
On my grandfathers Penn Yan - you removed the seat cushions on the rear seats to access the battery and trim pump. On the vertical wall of the seat base there were 4-5" holes cut to access the oil filter and the plug for the boat as it was in the hull bottom not the transom. couldn't see anything but you could feel them. That solution would work here either with a oscillating tool or hole saw cut your self an access hole near where drains are on manifolds one on each side . they make remote oil filter kits as well.

Hello,

Thanks for the info. My engine is a 2010 Mercruiser Alpha One V6 205.

It is a new engine for this old boat. It was installed in so tight and deep I cannot reach around to find the stop cocks for draining water from the block. This is why I asked about just displacing water with antifreeze. Can’t reach oil filter either—-installed under side of engine.
Use a mirror to find block drains or you will have to remove manifolds/risers. I live in NW Florida where now it seldom freezes. Back in the day, when it did freeze from time to time, we wouldn't pull OD until spring in prep for the next season or bugs would have another access point. Some would try to fill blocks with anti-free after completely draining exhaust manifolds and risers but most of us would just add a couple of shop lights for the engine compartment if we had freezing weather coming. I don't recall any boat catching fire due to a shop light. Norther climate can be an entirely different monster.

Yeah. You’ll find a way to get to those drains. Crucial you do. Forget YouTube. These are the guys that end up with no boat in spring
