Mercruiser 888 Manual SN 3440268

I need a manual for a 1973 Mercruiser 888 serial number 3440268. I have the Seloc Stern Drives 1964-91 Repair Manual and Seloc On-Line, but neither are specific enough. What I need today is the wiring diagram for the ignition system and the pump solenoid. I rebuilt the engine and put in two new solenoids, but I still can't get it to start from the ignition switch and I want to double check the wiring to pump solenoid. Any help would be appreciated.

did you hook up the nuteral wire? there should ne schematics in your manual

The schematic in the manual is for SN 3777490 and above. My starter solenoid seems to be wired differently.

Here is a link to the 888 wiring diagram, I scanned it from Mercruiser manual #1 which covers all Merc engines from 63-73.

You need page # 3E-28....
If you have a heater & a vacuum gauge....
My manual is a #1, 1972 R1....
The picture is different, not to say all of the connections are not the same or similar but, my pic is different....
Don't have a scanner or I would help you out, maybe Don S has that page as well.......JK
