Hi All,

It been a while since I have been on the forum, the 7.4L/Bravo1 in our 250 Sundancer ran great all season. My wife and I decided is was time for an upgrade and we sold the 250 and purchases a 90 Sundancer 310 with twin Gen IV 7.4L inboard engine with V-drives, haven't had time yet to look for serial #s. Since our purchase was just last week and here in NJ it staring to get cold I decided to have the Marina winterize the engines. As with our 250 I will learn all system on the new boat and perform 95% of the maintenance on my own. This leads me to my question.
Between the 2 center exhaust in the photo you can see 1 of the stainers for the engine cooling it round green thing and it has 3 hole around the edge in the top.

I have not seen this type before and the Sea Ray owners manual shows the type with the wing nut attached cap. How does one remove the stainer for cleaning? Is there a tool? Does the top just screw off? They are hard to reach!! The same stainer type is used for the AC system which I will be winterizing tomorrow. As alway any info or advice is appreciated.

Here is a picture of our new boat she came out of the water this past Monday. This will be the longest winter ever.

Thanks AD that what I figured too. How have you been, the old 74L in my 250 Dancer ran great all season so I was not on here much. She just went to her new home Sunday. We are ready to start our new adventure on the 310 Dancer.

I was able to bring the stainer unit home from the AC system home with me after winterizing it and was able to remove the top for clean out. I will be order one of those tools soon. The 2 for the engine raw water are not easily accessible like to AC one.

Since we just bought the boat 2 weeks ago I had the marina where she is for the winter do the winterizing of the engine. I just didn't have the time to learn how to do these closed cooling systems. Next winter I will do myself.

Happy Thanksgiving to all

Is it boating season yet
