Any thoughts?

I've used E-10 in EVERY car, truck, sled, boat, implement I own. I also store it for months at a time in various states whether in a 1 gallon tank or 5 gallon container. I seasonally store vintage cars as well. I've NEVER had a SINGLE fuel related incident traceable to the alcohol content in the gasoline. ZERO. ZIP. NADA over the past 10-12 years or so. I HAVE seen a couple of incidents where adding Sta-Bil has led to stuck floats when the fuel in the bowl evaporated and left a residue though.

The BEST way to prevent issues is to "starve" your system when you go to store whatever engine you have. Clamp, pinch, remove...whatever...the fuel line and allow the carb bowl to run dry prior to storage. Connect it back up, allow the bowl(s) to fill and start.

Way...WAY too much paranoia regarding the corn juice. Here as well as classic car forums are also full of it. Literally...

All that said...I don't agree with it's widespread use and the expense of non-eth but avoiding it like the plague is equally unwarranted as well.

You gas did not go bad in 2 months. Lack of fuel system maintenance is the real issue - - not E10 fuel.

Silvertip. What we are doing is changing the fuel water separator annually (there is no water in the gas when we take it off an dump in glass jar), rebuilding or replacing the carb annually, replaced the tank-to-fuel pump hoses, replaced the metal tubing from separator to the carb little filter, pumped the bottom of the tank at the end of the season (nothing but pure, good looking gas came out).
What other fuel system maintenance should we and the thousands of other folks with this problem be doing?
