1978 Searay 207 with Merc 260 5.7 engine. It is equiped with what I believe to be the original log sytle manifolds. I am going to replace them this off season.

Is there any benefit to upgrade to the current centerise style? New log manifolds appear to be cheaper.

No performance benefit for stock motors, but you can go to dry joint which reduces reversion to next to no chance for the normal boater. Going to center or dry joint will cost more then the manifolds because you would also need to change the thermostat housing and reroute hoses.

I would just stick with what you have

Ayuh,..... Ditto,.... Ya might have issues gettin' mated to the ole y-pipe,...

No performance gains to be had either,...

True, but it is nice to get rid of 4+ hoses running on top of the intake manifold for the manifold/riser return water lines. I feel like it eliminates clutter and several points of failure, even though the risk of failure is admittedly low.
