Hi,

I have a 5.0 Tks 2050 Bayliner Capri Cuddy runs mainly in salt water.

I had a belt snap due to a bad water circulation pump bearing,
i have now replaced the idler pulley, belt, water circulation pump, thermostat 160f, new impeller (all genuine mercruiser parts).

Manifolds and risers replaced 1 1/2 years ago.

I ran the boat for about 30minutes and then idled , i checked the temps with an infrared gun
was getting:

Around 120f on manifolds and risers
Engine 165-175f fluctuating
thermostat housing 126f

Triple checked the thermostat and gaskets are done correctly.

Should the manifolds and thermostat be that cool ? seems to run fine .

No such thing. these parts are GM parts that Mercruiser buys that came on the engine from the GM Tonawanda engine plant.

yes, the manifolds run cooler until the engine is loaded. go for a 10 minute run at WOT and your manifolds will be about 160F

Those Quicksilver labels and packaging are really expensive . . . usually add 2-3X times the cost of the GM or aftermarket part :ROFLMAO:

Keep in mind that some of the sea water coming into the engine goes directly to the exhaust manifold & riser, bypassing the engine, in order to keep the exhaust parts cool.

As Scott stated, the exhaust components will get warmer during running conditions.

First time working on boats but the price difference between the quicksilver circulation pump and aftermarket was marginal here in Australia.

The belt was the killer 57-861758Q $106USD but couldn't find any other belt.

I also had to upgrade the power steering pulley from the old plastic one to the bigger metal pulley apparently a recall part ? something about them
exploding..

The impeller kit was quicksilver but everything I've read said only to use oem in the alpha one gen 2.

You can always take the belt off the engine and into an auto part store, they can cross reference it over.
