mercruiser 5.0 MPI startin problems

I need help and expertise advise, I have a 2004 5.0 that will not start. I do get a click noise in the slave solenoid and 12 volts at the starter When the ignition switch is activated. I replaced the starter already and no luck. Any advise on where to check or how to check if a bad connection is present? Any and all advises are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check all the wires/cables and make sure that they are clean and properly attached.
