Mercruiser 4.3 added 4qts Still below ADD mark

I’m in Canada, they are only 60$ in the US but 100$ with shipping and exchange . Have you been running your boat with 4.5L of oil without issue or filling it to the full mark on your dipstick now roughly 6.5L?

I run the engine with 4-4.5L max, so far for few seasons...

I see your Canadian 20% difference and raise you an Australian 30% difference, plus a 50% supplier 'marine tax' (read 'price gouge', because we can).

Drained today with filter exactly 4.6 Liters and it was inch BELOW ADD mark on the water....

I’ve had 3 of these 4.3 gms. Each I’ve had takes 5 litres

ive got 2005 4.3 Mercruiser TKS (with Mercarb),
The problem is since I own a boat i have got drain plug oil system, changed oil put 4qts and its still below ADD mark... any ideas why? I’ve got proper dipstick according to the catalog...

I NEVER use a specified quantity, I ALWAYS just fill until the dipstick indicates the correct level. If that's 4 litres or 5 litres, I don't know (or care).

So it looks like I was running a boat for 3 seasons with 4.5L only...

Says 4-4.5. Then you’ll have an oil filter with likely half again in it and it’s pipe work. More of you have it remote.
