Mercruiser 3.0

What will happen if you run the boat without the exhaust bellows? Just a question that I?m trying to answer for someone that has been running there Mercruiser 3.0 for 2 years WITHOUT a bellows.

Obviously, nothing that serious if it has been 2 years. . .

The exhaust will not make it into the outdrive and through the prop. It will exit at the transom where the bellows would normally attach. some folks may feel that you run a greater risk of water getting back into the engine . . . who knows.

i run my twin 4.3 efi,s like that in a 32 footer, its a bit nosier when the clears are up, but it gives marginally better performance.

and a couple of hundred rpm more at WOT
