I know this is an older post but I'm really bummed you all quit posting. I am having the same issue. I can get good throttle response everywhere even at WOT but 5-10 seconds after it's like the motor is starved for fuel. I too have the 3.0 Merc.
At the beginning of the summer I couldn't get any throttle response from idle to 3/4. After all the crap I have done I now have response anywhere I position throttle even WOT but only momentarily.
Please tell me that someone has fixed this issue. Is there any chance my fuel/air screw needs to be turned in or out?
