Hi folks, wondering if 350 degrees after a 10 minute run is too hot for my intake manifold? Measured with IR gun, on the surface of my intake manfold, just below the carb. I don't know if I have an Exhaust Crossover port. But I would assume so, running so hot. Exhaust manifolds peak at 180 and 160 degrees respectively. Temp at the thermostat (again measured with IR gun) is a cool 115 degrees. This is after changing my alpha 1 impeller due to low flow and overheating at idle. This is the first time I've really checked my engine temperatures.

Merc 260 serial A438215 - GM V8 5.7L. Raw water cooled.

Thanks,
Dusty

If you have a 12 bolt intake, you have a exaust cross over, if you have a 8 bolt, no

So the guy from the local boat racing shop tells me "350 degrees, don't worry about it", given I told him I think I have a crossover. I'll check if I have a 12 bolt manifold asap.
