Picked this boat up last year and just trying to get it running

It's a 1976 Cobalt with a Mercruiser 233 engine only has 283 hours on the clock and need to know what are the correct spark plugs for it The ones that are in it are NGK BPR6FS Plugs ( Hex Head 5/8" )

Searched the net and came up with NGK AR6FS ( hex head 13/16" ) Will also need the correct gap for what ever plug it is

I'm going through the whole ignition and fuel system on her and will be posting more questions I'm sure

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Service Manual calls for AC-C83T or Champion F-10. I'm sure an auto parts place can cross reference other brands.

Either hex head size will work fine in your engine model as long as you stay with the proper part numbers. If the room is tight, maybe the smaller size would be easier to install though.

Good luck.:)

Since we are talking ignition issues , my next problem is no spark to the plugs I checked the voltages. The battery is fully charged reading 12.9 volts With the ignition key in the on position I have 5.5 volts and 2 volts on the coil terminal posts I have also had an issue with the starter solenoid The one the former owner installed was one that was a non-grounded base solenoid I addressed this in another post some months back At the moment I have the brown wire disconnected from the starter solenoid The connection on the posts are yellow wire on one post and bIack (Ground) on the other This wiring set up does make the starter work , but if I hook the brown (coil wire ) up with the yellow the starter starts to crank with just key in the on position I have a new grounded base solenoid coming in to replace the existing What is the voltage reading I should be getting at the coil? That brown wire needs to be hooked up to the solenoid correct ? I have a wiring diagram and will post that later Thanks
