Thanks for that Frank but I will be leaving the trim switch for now. Now just one other thing, I was able to track down a complete geniune Mercury/mercruiser water reversal kit. boy did it take some time and a lot of email etc but have got one. I could have made one up but I kinda like useing as many genuin parts etc as I can also it really was not bad in price either - $120 AUS delivered to my door.

Glad you were able to find a kit... but there is really nothing more to it than changing out a blank end cap on the manifold with one that has a hose fitting. Then a couple of gaskets for the riser and a stainless steel block off plate between the riser and the manifold. The hose you can get at your local auto parts store. Just good heater hose.

One more observation - I know the rules are different in Aussie land than here in the states, but that sure looks like pretty thin "normal automotive" rubber fuel hose you have going from your pump to the carb. Do you have type A1 marine fuel hose there? That's what I would suggest. Maybe you already have it, but it looks too thin for that from the picture. Just sayin' ;)

Hey Fishermark, Spot on there but it is a high pressure line but I am in the process of changing to a genuine Merc pipe as I have been able to track one of those down too. I feel they look so much better with the real merc stuff on them. I have also managed to trackdown the Continuity Coil rings for my sterndrive trim rams. The rules here are all different for each state you live in - pain in the backside but all of our state more focus on the safety gear that you have to carry than the standard of the engines, parts etc. I am a member of the local coast guard here and every summer we are for ever towing boats back to shore that have broken down. Most of them I would not even put in the water they are so unseaworthy but we cannot stop them only the police can do that. Anyway, have a great day/night and talk soon.:)

Sorry but forgot to say that I have also been able to pickup a totally new genuine Full Freshwater cooling System for it aswell. It is the Full kit which also cools the Manifold. Most of the kits I have been able to find only do the motor and not the exhaustmanifold etc. The only parts that the saltwater will get to is the leg and the exhaust elbow. That is coming from England and should be here in about a week or so.

Thanks and talk later guys.

Max.

If you develop a hard to find heating problem check for rust that could layer off in the block and exhaust and plug the exchanger.

Thanks for that too. All I can say is this - All the people in the forum are great and so helpful. Most of the people I have talked to around here where I live are so full of bull and do not know what they are talking about plus the local marine dealers are just total rip offs. One of them has not even seen the boat and the last time I was there talking to another guy who does know what he is talking about was just putting down my boat and trying to get me to sell it and buy an absolute peice of non seaworthy junk he had in the yard and I must say has been in the yard for over a year. Anyway, thanks a lot guys.

Not a stupid question. Yes it does... That's what is used in the water reversing kit... :D
