Ok guys.... We did it. 12 hours of scrubbing + trying to figure out how to put it back together, we made it happen:
Couple things still to do: 1) adjust the choke so it moves more freely. Right now it's a little sticky. 2) find a spring for the fuel filter. Ours didn't have one.
Also, this was a weird carburetor. There was no place for a check ball under the accelerator pump, nor was this model # listed. 705, according to rochester, means this was a quad-barrel jet. Well that's just not right!
We'll see how it runs when we get it back on the engine!
Next step is removing 2 intake valve springs to clean some surface rust off the intake manifold -.-
