Re: Mercruiser 140 Fuel Issue...NEED HELP...!

Could it be that there's no check valve/balloon in the new carb filter (it's white/black plastic cup) that came in the rebuild kit...vs the old one which was paper and had a check valve in it...maybe the fuel is running back?
I'll do the fuel pressure checks next time it acts up, when cool it is all fine.

Re: Mercruiser 140 Fuel Issue...NEED HELP...!

I have a 1985 Sea Ray Seville with 3.0 140hp The boat is in great shape and runs great, but I do have a problem with vapor locking on very hot days. I found this thread and read about the primer ball trick. The cheapest fix I have ever seen when the boat vapor locks the fuel pump losses it prime with the ball in line it fills the whole fuel system with gas including the carb. This is a very simple fix and the boat has always restarted and ran fine. Thanks
