Mercmonitor

Hello, I have a 2004 trophy 2359 with a 5.0MPI. When i bought the boat it had a newly installed Mercmonitor version 4.602 Date of 48/16. During the last trip the monitor died. Took it apart and see that it had shorted out or something and completely fried a capacitor. I do not see that there is any fuse anywhere between the engine and the monitor. Should there be? Don't want to burn up another expensive monitor. Thanks

The install manual shows a 3 amp fuse built into the harness

Thank you for the reply. Weird I do not seem to have that on my harness.... does anyone else have a harness without a fuse? When I order the new display will probably make sure it also has the harness and hopefully it has the fuse.

Is it the merc monitor old school thing or the newer vessel view unit ?

It is a bit old school but the most cost effective way to utilize the smartcraft data.
