I'm looking for some advise on a accelerator pump plunger for a Mercarb. It's on a 1994 3.0LX. The number on the carb is
05924A-1 / 3-01. According to my local dealer that carb calls for a Sierra 18-7097 kit. Everything in the kit matched up except for the accelerator pump. There were two plungers in the kit- straight shaft and curved shaft. The curved shaft matched the original except that the rubber cup was slightly smaller. The carb works well except for the lack of a full accelerator pump spray due to the plunger not fitting properly in the bore. The slight bog on fast acceleration is the only issue. My question(s) is, How can I identify the correctly plunger?, and Where can I find one?
Thanks in advance

There was a thread about this issue back in 2010 and the danyboy says he figures it should be kit number Sierra #18-7098 or #3302-804844

https://forums.iboats.com/forum/eng...s/441451-94-merc-3-0lx-looking-for-carbie-kit

Says 18-7097 was for the straight shaft

The carb breaks down to this
https://www.marineengine.com/parts/...tor-mercarb-0c856559-thru-d447414-0d836076-up

And would use pump kit number 3302-9655 (Is just pump) and superseded number 3302-9655-1 (Is pump and lower spring)

All you really need is probably the rubber part and can use your old rod and spring
