Merc Throttle Safety

I have an 88 Mercury Outboard and have experienced the throttle locking in the full throttle position causing the boat to spin in circles at full throttle. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a safety I can attach or has there been a recall I am unaware of? Please let me know what I can do.

Hi Dart,<br />I don't understand about your problem. What horspower is it? Is it a tiller steer engine?<br />Yes there is a kill switch you can install.<br />Don't Know about a service aid unless you have a shift control and a steering wheel.<br />There was a rebuild kit for the control box.<br />My personal opinion is to buy the next newer box.Much nicer and smaller.<br />Post back...corm
