Merc inline 6 internal water leak

I have a 85 115 merc that is getting water in motor from internal source. I have a fresh portable tank of gas to eliminate that source of water. I have removed the water jacket from around the plugs and have found no cracks. Also I have removed the power head and found water/oil<br />mix in driveshaft cavity and in what appears to be the rear exhaust port. I do have auto ability but new to outboard repair. I suspect the bottom crank seal and or exhaust manifold. Can anyone tell me what I need to do, what to expect, and how much damage has been done? Also it appears that I had water in all cylinders and have sprayed marine fogging oil into carbs and cylinders. Thanks. azamboni5985@wmconnect.com

If you have water in all cylinders then I suspect it is getting in through the exhaust manifold cover plate. If it was the bottom crank seals water would mostly be in the bottom cylinder.<br /><br />A chap on another site specifically for the mercury inline gave me info on curing water ingestion, im sure he wont mind me sharing this great info if you like i'll e-mail it to you.<br /><br />Stan
