merc. classic fifty wont start

i have a classic fifty not sure the year it is getting fuel and seems to be getting spark i jus put a new trigger in it but still wont fire could the stator be bad how do i test that or could it jump timing thx for any in put

It seems to be getting spark, or it is getting spark? It should be a bright blue lightning bolt.

Go to the Engine FAQs forum. Do "Outboard won't start". Let us know results.

it is getting spark out side of the motor and i did those steps still nothing how do i test the stator

If the coils will not jump at least a 1/2 gap the plugs may not fire under compression of the motor...Download the CDI manual and troubleshoot system.
