My 1990 vintage 9.9 was running great until this weekend. Friday night, no problem. Saturday morning I couldn't get it past idle without stalling. I could restart it right away but it would keep stalling out. Suspecting water in the fuel,we pulled the carb partially dissassembled and blew it out with carb cleaner. The filter had a vary small amount of black slidge. We swapped fuel tanks with one we know is good. Now it it is difficult to start and stalls out in a matter of seconds. Anyone have any ideas?
