Merc 9.9 Cowling Removal

I just bought this used 9.9. It is 5 to 10 years old, 2 cycle. Starts and runs fine. I want to winterize it. How do you remove the cowling? There is a phillips head screw at the rear. There is a metal clip at the front. There is a rubber plate on the side near the Off/On switch. I'm not completly blind. I took the phillips head screw off, tapped on the cowling, did not move. It may be it hasn't been removed for several years. Any help is appreciated.<br />Thanks.

did you look on the back of the motor on the thing that looks like a handle yet? on my 9.8 which is similar there is a hidden switch/lever inside that handle on the rear. Look at it form the bottom and you should see them, just pull down on those levers and it will unlock it
