Merc 5 HP busted shift lever...

My 2 YO boy tipped my 5 HP merc (2 stroke) over in the garage and busted the shift lever (forward/reverse) off....I got a new one from the dealer no prob, but I wondering if someone could offer some basic instructions on how to proceed....do split the case under the motor or do you take the bolts out that hold the motor on on the lower end and then lift the motor off.<br /><br />Thanks for any suggestions,<br />Tony<br />wedgeindy@hotmail.com
