merc 470 cough

after about 1/2 hour at 3000rpms my stbrd motor creates a miss/cough if i back down the throttles about 500 rpms it goes away for about 5-10min then it comes back the motor was not over heating and the timing is correct this is all i had time to check when i got back to the dock any help is great Thanks Trevor

Are they both fed fuel from the same tank? Something is not right with either your fuel or ignition. <br /><br />Of course they used the famous ford fuel filters in the carbs...change them both. When a ford filter clogs it kills the power and when it kills the power the sediment in the filter moves away from the screen allowing flow again.<br /><br />Bob
