hello fellow boaters,i have a 1977 40 horse merc, i sold the boat yesterday but the guy phonend me up today saying that the motor won,t work becouse it has a hole and a small crack at the side of the block where you put the spark plug in. now mind you the hole is really small and the crack is hairline but the engine won,t start becouse water is being sucked in through the pin hole.i gave the guy back his money,but was just wondering if this could be welded or do i need to get a new head? thanks to all and safe boating...kevin
