Two Questions, not sure if they are related to each other which is why I am posting both questions in the same thread.

1. Can somebody tell me what the two wires I have pictured and circled in red are for? One of them is capped, the other has some sort of metal end on it. One is all black, the other is purple with a white stripe.

2. My oil pressure sits at about 40psi during warm-up (idle) and then climbs to about 60ish while underway. After the engine is warmed up and I am in neutral, the oil pressure drops to about 10psi. I know this isn't enough to set the alarm off, but am I wrong in thinking it should be slightly higher (like around 40)? Which leads me to another thing, my rpm on the dash reads about 450-500 when engine is warmed up. I believe the desired idle is 650. If, while in neutral I bump the throttle up to 650 rpm, the oil pressure jumps up to 40psi. So to make things simple, I believe I need to adjustment my idle and I am not exactly sure how to do it. Before anybody says it, I know the dash rpm gauge isn't all that accurate and I need a different instrument to accurately measure rpm. There is a timing light on Amazon by Innova that has a built in digital rpm readout, I was thinking about going that route.

So in Summary....

1. Whats the two wires, and are they in anyway related to idle adjustment.
2. Whats the best way to accurately read rpm's and adjust idle.

What picture? I see NO-thing! (Think John Banner in Hogan's Heroes :))

The black is a spare ground wire. The purple/white is the wire you need to ground to put the ignition system into base mode to set timing and idle speed.

And yes, that Innova is a good unit. But please find somewhere other than Amazon to buy it. ;)

Can you fill me in more on this part (timing and adjusting idle rpm).
Iv searched through the owners manual and it doesn’t get into timing/idle speed. And I can’t find anything in the adults only section other than how to find tdc, nothing on the actual adjustment.
I’m more concerned with the idle speed at this point, but as I understand one affects the other so I might as well check both.

Owner's manual won't. You need the workshop manual. Here's a screengrab of the page you need.

You won't find a precedure to find TDC in many workshop manuals. Workshop manuals are generally written for trained and qualified service personnel, and a level of knowledge is assumed. One such 'assumed knowledge' is how to find TDC without a procedure in a book.
If you don't know how to find TDC, then you need to go right back to the very first stages of learning about engines.
nothing on the actual adjustment.
Generally adjustments are very engine specific and the settings and set ups are in the workshop manual for that particular engine. HOW to adjust is just one of those 'assumed knowledge' things again.

Do you have the right tools to check and set the things you are looking at? (Digital tacho, advance timing light, the right screwdrivers and spanners to change mixtures, speeds and adjust the distributor, shorting jumper to set the ignition module in base mode. And the knowledge on how to use them correctly)
