Merc 4.3 intake on OMC?

'88 4.3 OMC is what we're dealin with here...I've seen plenty of threads on changing the 2-bbl to a 4 with an aftermarket intake and carb, but what about a 2001 Merc set-up? I have a chance to get the entire engine from one with a blown bottom end. I know I'd change the heads but I'd like to go all the way if possible. I'm sure some fabbing will be needed for the shift linkage, but how bad should that be and what else might be needed?

Ayuh,......

If you're just talking about swapping the Heads,+ Intake,........

It should be No Problem,.........

At worst,...
You may, or may not find a Bolt Hole or 2 where you want it for mounting the throttle linkage or something........

GM made the manifolds, they were not, Merc, OMC, Volvo specific.

Perhaps that is why OMC folded - grey just didn't have the marketing power
