Merc 3.9 fuel line?

I have a 3.9 and it apears that the fuel line from the connector to the pump is leaking, Has anyone tried copper tubbing or plastic to repair this????

The easiest repair is to get a hose barb fitting for each end and a piece of rubber fuel line
