Merc 3.5 question

I apologize for being "mechanically challenged" but I'd like to learn so ....

This is regarding my small 3.5 HP 4-stroke Merc purchased new in 2009 (just over the 1 yr warranty).

2 things ... last time I was out and I put the motor at full speed I noticed that it didn't seem to have as much power as it did before (at full speed). It seemed that the throttle from about 70% to 100% was about the same. Also, the cooling water discharge volume seems to be diminished over what I usually observe and when I flush it out after use (I am in salt water) sometimes the cooling discharge stream stops?? I assume perhaps I might have something clogging the impeller? I have no idea where the impeller is located or how to get in there and diagnose it but I might be willing to give it a try otherwise I'll have to take the motor for service. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can try regarding these two issues? I am motor repair challenged but am willing to learn.

Any good articles on the net regarding small engine 4 stroke OB maintenance and repair specifically Merc if possible?

Also, where would I get a service manual for this specific motor? Willing to pay. Online would be easiest as I live a bit remote.

Odering the correct service manual from your dealer can get expensive but in the long run will save you money as the factory manual spells out everything in much more clarity and detail than all the after-market manuals.

It is often quite helpful to see the expanded parts view of your motor to see each part and the order that they align together.

I looked online at the Merc Manuals and yes expensive ($100 incl delivery), but I couldn't find one for my specific motor only the 0-30HP manual. The ordering page does not ask for you for a specific model etc.

On the link you sent,I think I found my model and am wading through the diagrams. Thanks.
