Weighing my options, maybe you guys can help. Both heads are cracked. Block & crankshaft look OK. I'm on a budget, but will spend money to get it set up right. I'm leaning towards getting fully dressed rebuilt heads from some of the web sights I've seen on the net. -Can anyone recommend a good place?- Its an 1987, 350 Chevy block, 1 piece rear seal. Heads are 14101083. Not to sure of the head volume, either 69 or 76cc. Block is going to the shop tomorrow, and I'm sure they will want to sell me a set of heads.
Thanks, Chris

You have a 64cc head that was very prone to cracking. I have used these in there place http://store.summitracing.com/partd...925232+4294838998+4294908216+115&autoview=sku They work very good and you cannot beat the price. If you want to up your HP a little you can go with the GM Vortec heads but you would have to get a vortec manifold. Look around on this site and give them a call. They have all your cylinder head needs and you get new heads for the price of rebuilt.

I bought a long-block from Rapido last year with decent results.

I also sent you a pm... Depending on your location, I just stripped an 89 mercruiser 350 and am going with after-market heads for the rebuild... The heads off it are casting number 14096217.

083 Heads are always on ebay. They came stock on 87-92 Camaro and Firebird 350 Tuned Port Injection L98 Motors. Dont get that confused with L98 Vette 350 motors as those came with 113 Aluminum heads. I accually just sold a good set of 083 heads for 60 bucks locally. I'll PM you if I know any of my friends selling 083 heads as we all have TPI motors.

I would suggest you stay away from the 083 heads as I stated before they are prone to cracking. They usually crack in the exhaust valve area. Not trying to start a fight just trying to help out, use a different head.
