My 1986 Merc 25 shifts into neutral from reverse fine but when i shift from forward to neutral it doesn't go completely into neutral. I have to shift from forward into reverse and then into neutral. What should i do.
If your useing a control box the shift cable needs to be adjusted, if not look on the shift linkage inside the cowl and there is adjustment there, you might consider a Mercury Service Manual if you intend to keep the engine
