Hi everyone. I did a quick forum search before I ask this question and none of the threads seem to be about the specific problem I am running into.
I have a 1978? (not sure on year, will look up serial number when I get off of work) 200 series 20hp blue tin wrap outboard. Took it out, started up and idled great, got out of the wake zone, accelerated, then it bogged out. I then noticed that when I started it up again if I pumped the bulb every once in a while it ran strong enough to get back to the dock.Once I tried starting it again, it would not start and acted like it was flooded out. List of things that I checked and replaced:
- arrow on primer bulb is pointing to the engine on fuel line.
- replaced fuel line connection at engine.
- tried various fuel lines (all new)
- hose clamps are at all hose ends on fuel line
I dont have a book on my engine, is there a recommended fuel line size that I need to make sure I am using? Appreciate any insight you guys may give.
