Hi guys,
Quick question. Should I add any additives to my 2 stroke motor to keep it healthy? Or will just keeping oil in it and taking it in for annual maintenance enough?
Thanks

In normal operation it needs nothing more than gas and oil.....but, at times it can help to add something like Seafoam, but don't get carried away and think you need to put it in every tank. If you set the boat aside for a period of time a fuel stabilizer will help, so will draining the carbs, two weeks or a month is not a long time though.

There will be people that respond and say they never use anything, and others that will say they add some miracle in a bottle to every tank…..both will report very few to no issues, you can take it from there.

Checking for water in gear oil part way through the season is a good idea along with checking for fishing line wound in behind prop.
Other than that, taking it in annually for service would be adequate, and better than most people do.
