Merc 150HP V6 1979

I recently rebuilt the carbs on my engine. In the process of removing the plate covering the carbs I broke a brass fitting with a very small ID hose is attached. The hose is part of a set of hoses that attach to the powerhead for each cylinder. It attaches by the head then again under the carbs.

Can someone tell me what the hoses are for?

Those lines are Bleed Lines used to recycle unburnt fuel.
