Changing the seals on the base housing and impeller cover. Impeller cover is complete but i want to ensure the seals are installed correctly on the base housing. I had water in the lower unit and found one of the seals torn slightly. Which direction do the seals face when they are installed? The way i took it apart, from top looking down at the housing, the top seal has the open part of the seal facing up, and the lower seal has the open part of the seal facing up as well. Is this correct? I do not want to install the seals and allow water to be forced into the lower unit.
