Meguiars Ultimate Compound

Is Meguairs Ultimate Compound ok to use on mildly oxidized black gelcoat? My local stores do not carry any 3M product so this is my alternative if suitable. After applying this, I would use the 3M Perfect It Polish Swirl removed followed by wax.

There's nothing bad about it and your results will vary depending the condition of your gel coat, the technique used, and your skill.

What works great on one boat may do a terrible job on another one.

For $10.00 even if it doesn't work as well as the 3M product it will look better than it does now, and you aren't out much if you don't like it.
